John's story
Interior architecture trained, I graduated from Rochester School of Art (KIAD) in 1997; taught by architects Nicholas Blythe, Tevik Balcioglu, Sue Manley and Metin Demiray.
This was followed by my first working role designing restaurants at The Jones Design Co, in North London.
Always with a sketch book in hand, creating beautiful and effective use of space is what I like doing most.
Over a 25yr+ career and working with some of London's most prominent consultancies on many notable and award winning projects, my range of experience grew to encompass residential, hotel and hospitality design, as well as workplace, visitor centre, high street and speciality retail design.
All ultimately leading to first establish number 39 in 2010; to now be able to develop and promote sustainable design and construction methods in of all of our projects.

The number 39 logo is about creating positive and negative space creating unique identity and experience, the best use of space and sustainable materials.
